FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - August 30, 2013 - St. Louis, Missouri, Nestlé Purina PetCare Company (NPPC) is voluntarily recalling a limited number of 3.5-pound bags of its Purina ONE beyOnd Our White Meat Chicken & Whole Barley Recipe Adult Dry Dog Food from a single production run and shipped to retail customers in the United States. This is being done because one bag of the product was found to be contaminated with Salmonella.

P&G Voluntarily Recalls Limited Quantity of Dry Pet Food Due to Possible Health Risk

PRESS RELEASE-August 14, 2013- CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) has voluntarily recalled specific lots of dry pet food because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. These lots were distributed in the United States and represent roughly one-tenth of one per cent (0.1%) of annual production. No Salmonella-related illnesses have been reported to date in association with these product lots.
   
Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products.
 

 
Goldenfeast Issues Limited Recall of 8 Bird Foods
 
PRESS RELEASE- August 28, 2013, via http://www.birdchannel.com -Eight varieties of Goldenfeast exotic bird food have been voluntarily recalled because of potential Salmonella contamination linked to parsley flakes, the Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, company reported Monday.

The parsley ingredient was supplied to Goldenfeast Inc. by Specialty Commodities Inc., which in February began a voluntary recall of flakes distributed to a number of pet food manufacturers.
No human or pet illnesses have been reported in connection with the parsley flakes, Goldenfeast reported. Symptoms of salmonella poisoning in animals include lethargy, diarrhea, fever and vomiting. People who handle contaminated pet products may show similar symptoms.
The recalled food includes all package sizes but only selected best-by dates.

  • Basics Plus Parakeet: August 31, 2013, through February 28, 2014
The recalled bird food was distributed to retailers and distributors in Canada and 23 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin and Virginia.
Anyone who purchased one of the recalled products may inquire about a refund by calling Goldenfeast at 800-344-6536 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT Monday through Friday.
